The selection criteria for
the program are as follows:

  • Practical experience: Candidates must have a minimum of five years of practical experience in one of the theatrical artistic fields.
     

  • Creativity and innovation: Candidates should demonstrate the ability to generate new ideas and approaches, while promoting cultural diversity and artistic pluralism.
     

  • Community engagement: Candidates should be flexible and capable of adapting to different circumstances and requirements, including working with communities and groups from diverse cultural backgrounds.
     

  • Alignment with project objectives: The artistic work of the candidate should align with the goals of the residency program, which aims to promote cultural understanding and tolerance through artistic means.

The Residency offers numerous advantages, such as:

  • A 31-day stay anytime from September 2023.

  • Grant of up to 7,000 ILS.

  • Access to various facilities such as studios, swimming pools, performances spaces, and more.

  • Artistic guidance with bi-weekly meetings led by program's artistic directors.

  • Enhanced lighting and technical support.

  • Social media marketing and public relations initiatives.

  • Accommodation in an apartment or hotel/cabin room (depending on location).

  • Fully equipped kitchen.

  • Engage with the local community and culture.

  • Three shows/presentations at program's end, alongside fellow selected artists.

The selected artists commit to the following: 

  • Upon program completion, artists commit to collectively conducting three performances, each lasting about 15 minutes, alongside fellow participants. These presentations will be organized in accordance with the program's management decisions, contributing to the realization of a comprehensive evening event.

  • Participants are required to conduct a minimum of three presentations of their works by the end of June 2024. Additionally, they must commit to participating in a meeting with potential supporters of the program after project completion.

  • Accommodation/stay for a minimum of two weeks at the residency centers.

  • The artists will conduct a weekly 4-hour workshop with one of the local groups.

  • Meetings with local families.

  • Collaboration in the creative process with the artistic directors.

  • During November 2023, a brief presentation of several minutes from the (future) creative process will be shown, and participation in a panel discussion in front of the Friends of Neve Shalom - Wahat al-Salam Association.
